Weekend Weather: Freezing Conditions and Heavy Snow

By Y.M. Lowy

The weekend begins with a sharp shift toward much colder conditions. Today will reach a high of 38 degrees with some sun early, but it will turn windier and colder as the day goes on.

Shabbos will be extremely cold, with temperatures staying around 20 degrees, well below freezing. Snow is expected through the day, with accumulations of 2 to 4 inches. Spending prolonged time outdoors could be dangerous due to the cold.

Sunday stays bitterly cold, with a high near 24 degrees. Winds will increase again, and heavier snow is expected, with totals ranging from 4 to 8 inches and possibly more. Streets and sidewalks are likely to remain snow-packed and slippery, making travel difficult.
