Water Service Shutdown Scheduled for Tomorrow in Wallabout Street Area

Water service will once again be temporarily shut down, this time during the day, as crews continue the water main replacement in the area.

The shutdown is scheduled for tomorrow, June 24, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. It follows a recent overnight shutdown last week, which was carried out to begin the installation of new mains. The upcoming daytime work is needed to replace both an 8-inch and a 20-inch water main.

The work will affect buildings along Wallabout Street between Lorimer Street and Marcy Avenue, Lee Avenue between Wallabout Street and Flushing Avenue, and Marcy Avenue between Wallabout Street and Walton Street.

Service will be restored as soon as the installation is complete.
