Underground Wire Fire Causes Partial Power Outages on Walton Street
An underground wire fire Monday evening caused partial power outages on Walton Street, leaving residents with limited electricity — some lights are out and air conditioning units are not functioning.
The incident affected multiple addresses, including:
• 88 Walton Street
• 114 Walton Street
• 37 Throop Avenue
FDNY quickly secured the scene, and Con Edison is actively working to restore full service. No injuries were reported.
Harrison Avenue, which had been briefly closed during the emergency response, has since been reopened.
Residents are encouraged to report any remaining power issues to Con Edison as restoration work continues.
