Suspects Arrested After Multiple Cars Smashed and Robbed Overnight

A string of car break-ins in Williamsburg last night left four vehicles damaged, with cash and valuables stolen. 

The incidents took place along Montrose Avenue, Hooper Street, and Wallabout Street, where windows were smashed and items were taken from inside the vehicles. In one case, about $1,000 in cash was reported stolen.

The same two individuals were behind the break-ins and had been going from car to car throughout the neighborhood, attempting to access additional vehicles. Their activity continued until around 4 a.m., when they were apprehended by the NYPD with the assistance of Shomrim

Chavivim was on scene cleaning up glass shards from one of last night’s car break-ins.

Authorities believe the suspects may be connected to other recent car break-ins in the Williamsburg area.

Residents are strongly reminded to keep their vehicles locked at all times and to avoid leaving any valuables in plain sight. Items such as cash, electronics, and chargers can easily attract attention and make a vehicle a target.
