Rodney Park North Basketball Court Closed for Renovations
The basketball court at Rodney Park North has been temporarily closed as New York City Parks begins a short-term renovation project aimed at improving the facility.
According to NYC Parks officials, the closure began on Thursday and is expected to remain in effect for approximately two weeks. The work will include repairs to the court's asphalt surface as well as the application of a new layer of sport court coating designed to improve playing conditions.
The renovation is considered a limited-scope project but will require the court to remain inaccessible to the public while work is underway.
Residents who regularly use the court are advised to seek alternate locations during the construction period. NYC Parks has not announced a specific reopening date but anticipates the work will be completed within the two-week timeframe, weather permitting.
Officials apologized for the short notice regarding the closure and said the upgrades are intended to enhance the quality and safety of the recreational space for local users.
