The construction worker, who was directing traffic with a reflective flag, got pinned to another car when the reckless driver sped through an intersection and tried to pass a truck without having enough space or the right of way to do so. Multiple other cars were struck during the accident as well. The construction worker was taken to the hospital where he was declared dead.
The driver was charged with criminally negligent homicide, reckless endangerment, reckless driving, and failure to exercise due care, and he will appear today before a judge.
