Rabbi Niderman from UJO Sends Letter to President Trump Honoring America’s 250th Anniversary

The United Jewish Organizations of Williamsburg and North Brooklyn sent a formal letter to President Donald J. Trump congratulating him as the nation marks the 250th anniversary of American independence.

In the two-page letter, UJO President Rabbi David Niederman expresses gratitude for the freedoms the United States has provided, particularly to generations of Jewish immigrants and Holocaust survivors. Citing the teaching from Pirkei Avos to “pray for the welfare of the government,” the letter reflects on America’s role as a place where Jews have been able to live in peace, practice their faith, educate their children, and contribute to society without fear of persecution.

The letter also highlights the enduring significance of the words inscribed on the Statue of Liberty and America’s historic role in welcoming those fleeing oppression. It concludes with a prayer that Hashem continue to bless the United States, President Trump, the Vice President, Congress, and all public servants, while asking that America remain a beacon of hope, freedom, democracy, and opportunity for generations to come.
