Parking Update in Preparation for Half Marathon

Parking Update in Preparation for Half Marathon

By Y.M. Lowy

This Sunday, Williamsburg will host its annual half marathon, bringing a wave of runners to the area early in the morning. The race will pass through Kent Avenue, causing temporary changes to parking and traffic.

At first, the no parking signs stated there should be no parked cars by 2 PM on Shabbos in preparation for the event. However, after receiving multiple calls from the community, the 90th Precinct has recognized the concerns of those observing Shabbos.

As a result, Community Affairs will be adjusting the parking restrictions.

The updated rule: Vehicles can remain parked through Shabbos, but they must be moved by 10 PM on Motzai Shabbos, the 90th Precinct told W365.

Please spread the word to avoid any confusion, tickets, or towing.
