Overnight Water Shutdown Scheduled Tonight for Water Main Work

Residents in parts of Williamsburg should prepare for a temporary overnight water shutdown beginning at midnight tonight.

The shutdown is scheduled for tonight from 12:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. and is necessary to facilitate ongoing work to replace 8-inch and 20-inch water mains. During the shutdown, crews will also test and operate valves to ensure the system is functioning properly.

The affected area includes the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Middleton Street, Lynch Street from Marcy Avenue to Broadway, Harrison Avenue between Walton Street and Heyward Street, the intersection of Union Avenue and Harrison Avenue, and Lorimer Street from Harrison Avenue to Throop Avenue.

Water service is expected to be restored once the work is completed.
