NYPD Reminds Public of E-Commerce Exchange Zones

NYPD Reminds Public of E-Commerce Exchange Zones

By Y.M. Lowy

In an incident in Boro Park, two men were arrested following a gunpoint robbery that took place during a transaction arranged through an app. The suspects attempted to buy an expensive item using counterfeit money. The victim quickly noticed the fake bills and confronted them. In response, the two perpetrators pulled out a gun and attempted to flee the scene.

In light of this incident, the NYPD is reminding the public about a valuable resource for safe online transactions. All police stations, including the 71st and 90th Precincts, offer designated e-commerce exchange zones that are well-lit and closely monitored. Feel free to use these safe spaces for your exchanges.

Whether you are buying or selling, these zones provide peace of mind knowing that law enforcement is watching over your transaction, helping to keep Williamsburg safer and protect the public from potential crimes like the one that occurred.
