NYPD Brooklyn North Hosts Pre-Yom Tov Safety Meeting
By Williamsburg 365 Staff
Last week, ahead of Yom Tov, Chief Mark A. Vazquez, Commanding Officer of NYPD Patrol Borough Brooklyn North, met with Williamsburg organizations including Shomrim, Hatzolah, Chaveirim, and community leaders from the Williamsburg Jewish Community Council (WJCC) and the United Jewish Organizations (UJO).
The meeting included discussions on police coverage throughout Yom Tov, traffic flow across town, and coordination with volunteer groups to ensure community safety during the busy holiday period.
Chief Vazquez emphasized that there will be a strong NYPD presence, with high-visibility patrols at all synagogues and across the neighborhood. He also expressed his gratitude to Hatzolah, Shomrim, and Chaveirim for the incredible work they do helping us help the community.
Also in attendance were the local commanding officers of the precincts that cover the borough — the 79th, 90th, 88th, and 94th Precincts — underscoring the NYPD’s borough-wide commitment to safety during the holiday.
