By Williamsburg 365 Staff
Chavivim, Shomrim, and the NYPD are on the scene at Middletown Street, corner of Broadway, after multiple vehicles were found with tires deliberately slashed with a knife. At least 10 cars were affected, with several tires on each vehicle damaged. In total, an estimated 15–18 tires will need to be repaired or replaced.
Chavivim volunteers are actively assisting drivers by fixing or replacing the damaged tires so the vehicles can be moved. Shomrim members are on scene searching for nearby cameras and working closely with the NYPD’s 90th Precinct Detective Squad to locate video footage that may help identify the suspect.
NYPD officers are taking reports from vehicle owners and have opened an investigation into the vandalism. Detectives will be reviewing any recovered surveillance footage to determine when the slashing occurred and who is responsible.
This is the second tire-slashing incident recently reported in the community, raising concerns among residents about a pattern of targeted vandalism.
Anyone with information or relevant video footage is urged to contact Shomrim or the NYPD.
