A significant drug bust took place in Williamsburg, leading to the arrest of George Capella.
Following an eight-month investigation, authorities seized over 85 pounds of cocaine and fentanyl, eight loaded firearms, and approximately $420,000 from Capella’s residence on Leonard Street.
Capella, charged with major drug trafficking and weapons offenses, was observed retrieving large packages of narcotics from a car outside his building. A search of his vehicles and home revealed cocaine, fentanyl, firearms, drug paraphernalia, and cash.
Special Narcotics Prosecutor Bridget Brennan noted the operation’s scope, highlighting the danger to the community and the lives saved through the investigation. The bust marks a major disruption to drug trafficking right outside Williamsburg, a neighborhood that has long been dealing with its challenges.
