Huge Waterfront Project Near Heimish Area Nears Completion
By Y.M. Lowy
Construction is wrapping up on the first phase of Williamsburg Wharf, a massive mixed-use development on the South Williamsburg waterfront, just a short distance from the local Yiddish area.
The project will eventually feature five 22-story residential towers and nearly 1 million square feet of residential, commercial, and retail space. When complete, the development will include 950 condominium and rental units.
This Williamsburg Wharf building, at the southern end of the complex at 480 Kent Avenue, is part of a few buildings to take shape. Its exterior is nearly finished, and several apartments are close to being ready for residents.
