HISTORIC EXPANSION: Satmar Kehillah Secures New Lot, Marking a Powerful New Chapter

In a development that has sent waves of excitement through the Satmar Kehillah, an additional lot has been officially acquired for the Rodney Street shul, adding a substantial 3,000 square feet to the kehillah's long-anticipated expansion project. The project, which has been steadily progressing since the summer months, now takes a dramatic leap forward with this pivotal purchase.
The newly acquired property sits on a strategic and highly visible location that significantly enhances the scope and potential of the renovation. Remarkably, the purchase took place exactly forty years after the acquisition of the adjacent "bayis sheini," creating a striking historical parallel.
Adding further significance to the moment, the new renovation was purchased by the recently-passed legendary philanthropist Reb Yisroel Goldberger, z”l, whose lifelong devotion to communal growth and support continues to leave an enduring imprint. Even after his passing, his commitment to building and strengthening the Kehillah is being felt in a very tangible way.
As news of the expansion spreads, thousands of Satmar chassidim are greeting the announcement with tremendous anticipation. The added space is widely viewed as more than bricks and mortar - it represents growth, continuity, and a bold investment in the future of the Chassidus.
