Gaby Yabra from Williamsburg365 Visits Argentina Hatzolah to Share Expertise

By Y.M. Lowy

Gaby Yabra of the Williamsburg Jewish Community Council (WJCC), well known in the Williamsburg community, recently visited Argentina Hatzolah while traveling to see family. During his trip, Yabra also visited several other organizations, including Chaveirim, where he is an active member in Williamsburg.

During his visit to Argentina Hatzolah, Yabra toured the organization’s operations, met with volunteers, and shared ideas drawn from emergency-response experience in New York. He also spent time learning how the team coordinates calls, dispatch, and daily response.

Argentina Hatzolah is led by President Luciano Skef and Vice President Henry Binker, with Coordinator Isi Cuan among the team overseeing operations. The organization currently has 130 volunteers and operates one ambulance, with a second vehicle expected soon. Hatzolah responds to approximately 385 calls per month, coordinated by three coordinators and supported by six dispatchers.

In addition to emergency response, Argentina Hatzolah is supported by a group of doctors and specialists who volunteer their time, seeing patients who do not have insurance at their offices free of charge.

This month also marks a major milestone for the organization: Argentina Hatzolah is celebrating 10 years since it first opened. The visit highlighted the strong bond between Jewish communities worldwide—exchanging knowledge and strengthening lifesaving services across borders.
