G Train Summer Shutdowns Move Into 2nd Phase
By Idy Perl
Due to modernization changes being made to the train signal system, the G line has been shut down for the last week and is now moving into the 2nd phase of shutdowns.
Instead of shutting down the entire G line, the suspensions in the 2nd phase will be staggered, and each section will be affected at different times:
From July 5 to August 12 there will be no service between Court Square and Bedford-Nostrand avenues
From August 12 to September 3 there will be no service between Bedford-Nostrand and Church avenues
The MTA will be running shuttle buses along the G line route during the suspensions. On weekdays the shuttle will run every 1-4 minutes, and every 5-10 minutes during the evening and night hours. On weekends the service will run every 3-5 minutes during the day.
