Detective Kenny Melendez Transitions from 90th Precinct to Broader Brooklyn North Role

The Williamsburg community bids a fond farewell to Detective Kenny Melendez, a familiar and dedicated figure in the NYPD’s 90th Precinct Community Affairs Unit. After years of serving the neighborhood with commitment and care, Detective Melendez is stepping away from his role at the precinct to take on a new position within Patrol Borough Brooklyn North. 

His contributions to fostering community trust and engagement in Williamsburg have left a lasting impact, and while his daily presence at the 90th Precinct will be missed, his new role ensures he will remain a vital part of the broader Brooklyn community.

In his new assignment, Detective Melendez will work directly under Assistant Chief Mark A. Vazquez, the recently promoted Commanding Officer of Patrol Borough Brooklyn North.
