Construction Advances on Two 50-Story Towers Along Williamsburg Waterfront
Construction is making significant progress on a major residential development along the Williamsburg waterfront, where two 50-story towers are rising at 280 Kent Avenue as part of the ongoing Domino Sugar redevelopment.
The project, developed by Two Trees and designed by REX, will bring 1,262 apartments to the neighborhood, with approximately 25 percent of the units designated as affordable housing.
The two towers will reach approximately 591 feet and together cover more than 1.1 million square feet. Plans also include commercial space, an enclosed parking garage, and private outdoor balconies for residents.
Recent construction updates show that the northern tower has already reached approximately two-thirds of its planned height, with workers continuing to install its glass exterior. The southern tower remains in an earlier stage of construction, standing only several floors above street level.
The development occupies an entire block between South 1st Street, South 2nd Street, Kent Avenue, and River Street, near the former Domino Sugar Refinery.
Once completed, the towers are expected to become the tallest buildings in Williamsburg, adding another major development to the neighborhood's rapidly changing waterfront skyline.
Construction is expected to continue over the next several years, with completion currently anticipated in fall 2030.
