Con Edison Issues Alert to Conserve Energy During Heat Wave

Con Edison is asking all New York City customers to help reduce strain on the electric system while urgent repairs are being made.

If you received a text or email from Con Edison, your area may be affected. In these zones, residents are urged to immediately cut back on non-essential power use. That includes limiting the use of dishwashers, laundry machines, and extra lighting.

All customers are asked to set air conditioners to the minimum needed to keep your house cool and avoid using large appliances during peak hours.

These steps will help prevent outages and keep service stable while crews make necessary repairs.
