Breaking News: Zohran Mamdani Wins NYC Mayoral Race

After a heated Election Day, the votes are counted. Zohran Mamdani has won the New York City mayoral race. The 33‑year‑old state assemblyman and self‑described democratic socialist rode a wave of energy from young voters to take the city’s top job, surprising many in the political world.

Mamdani ran on bold promises: free city bus rides, municipal grocery stores, taxing the rich, rent freezes, and a higher minimum wage. His supporters say he brings fresh ideas. Critics say his plans are risky and don’t explain how they will be sustainable.

Business leaders and moderate voices are worried about what his policies could mean for the city’s economy. President Donald Trump also strongly spoke out against Mamdani, warning about the city moving too far left.

With 65.8% of votes counted, Zohran Mamdani leads the New York City mayoral race with 782,403 votes (50%), followed by Andrew Cuomo with 646,951 votes (41.38%) and Curtis Sliwa with 120,476 votes (7%).

The real test begins now. New Yorkers will be watching closely to see whether Mamdani can turn his campaign promises into reality, and how he plans to implement his agenda in a city as complex as New York.

All eyes will be on City Hall, particularly when it comes to his relationship with the Jewish communities across the city. Many are eager to see how he will engage, collaborate, and address the concerns of our community in the months ahead.
