Bomb Squad, ESU, and Fire Marshals Swarm Keap Street, Investigating Fire-Damaged Building Just Hours After Blaze

By Williamsburg 365 Staff

On the same block, and just hours after the devastating fire at 227 Keap Street this morning, a massive emergency response has secured off the scene.

Numerous NYPD ESU units, the NYPD Bomb Squad, fire marshals, and other law enforcement personnel are currently investigating the very building that was damaged in the blaze. Streets around the area have been shut down, with a wide safety perimeter set up as officials work methodically inside and around the structure.

There are unofficial reports of a possible threat found in the building of interest, but no official details have yet been released about the nature of the investigation.

The heavy presence of specialized units, coming so soon after the traumatic fire and critical injury earlier today, has left local residents on edge as they await further information.

More updates will follow as they become available.
