BDE: The Samborer Rav, zt”l

YS GOLD

We regret to inform you of the passing of Rav Aaron Zev Malik, zt”l, the Samborer Rav of Williamsburg. He was niftar in the early hours of Thursday morning at the age of 76.

The niftar was born in Romania following the Holocaust to his parents, Reb Benzion and Brana Malik, and he was raised in Williamsburg, where his star began to shine in his youth. Even as a young boy, he was known for his brilliance and hasmodoh.

The Rebbe was a descendants of Rav Moshe of Sambor, zt”l.

He married Rebbetzin Miriam Aidel, the daughter of Rav Yosef Saks, zt”l, a famed Satmar chossid.

He was a tremendous talmid chacham, and a distinguished rov in the Williamsburg community.

The Rebbe was tragically involved in a terrible accident on the New York State Thruway last summer, and he was critically injured in the accident. He suffered from ill health since that time, and although it seemed as though his condition was improving, he sadly returned his neshamah to its Maker last night.

The Levaya will take place at 10:00 this morning in front of the Sambor beis medrash at 205 Wallabout Street. He will be laid to rest on the beis hachaim in Kiryas Yoel.

Yehi zichro baruch.
