BDE: Rabbi Shmuel David Toab, zt"l, of Brid
With great sorrow and grief, we report the passing of Rabbi Shmuel David Toab, zt"l, of Brid, long-time Magid Shuir in the Satmar Yeshiva in Williamsburg, who passed away this afternoon at the age of 77.
Rabbi Toib, zt"l, was the eldest son of the renowned Rabbi Amrum Toab, zt"l, the Rebbe of Brid and Av Beis Din of Eriges Haboshom in Baltimore, whom the Satmar Rebbe, zt"l, had sent to Baltimore to infuse a spirit of Kedisha among the local Jewish community. Rabbi Toib, zt"l, was also the son-in-law of the great Rabbi Yidel Weber, zt"l, the Rosh Yeshiva of Pupa, and a close disciple of the Pupa Rebbe, zt"l, the Vayechi Yosef.
For many years, Rabbi Toab, zt"l, was immersed in Torah study, serving as a Maggid Shiur and Mechanich in the Satmar Yeshiva K'tana in Williamsburg, where he raised and taught thousands of students in Torah and Yiras Shamayim.
Unfortunately, his health declined in recent years, and today, he passed away, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of children, grandchildren, Torah scholars, and educators.
The Levaye will take place this evening in Williamsburg, details to follow.
