BDE: R’ Avrohom Yitzchok Hakohen Franczoz, Legend of Chessed

YS Gold
We regret to inform you of the passing of Reb Avrohom Yitzchok HaKohen Franczoz, proprietor of the famed Franczoz bakery in Williamsburg and a legend of chessed. He was 75 years of age.
The niftar was among the old guard of the legendary Sigheter Shul in Williamsburg, and was renowned throughout the community for his chessed and tzedakah—all the while abhorring and shunning kavod. He distributed and lent hundreds of thousands of dollars to fellow Yidden, asking for nothing in return. Some of the incredible stories of his chessed were related at the Levaya.
He would spend many hours every day immersed in learning, toiling greatly to understand every word.
He had a smile for everyone, and went out of his way to do a favor for anyone and everyone in need.
The Levaya took place on Thursday night at the Satmar shul on Clymer street. Kevurah took place in Kiryas Yoel.
Yehi zichro baruch.
