BDE: Mrs. Sarah Ungar, A”h

We regret to inform you of the passing of Mrs. Sarah Unger, she was 84 years of age, the matriarch of beautiful, strong Yiddishe Doros.

She was married to R’ Aryeh Unger, a Choshuv Ben Torah in Williamsburg.

She was the daughter of R’ Avraham Zanvil Gertner. Her father was the first to set up Hemish Cholov Yisroel milk, Golden Flow, setting up a strong foundation for Yiddishkeit to flourish. His home was constantly open to guests of any type and stripe.

In the 'Eifo Yossele' times, when the Zionists were on a worldwide mission to capture Yossele Schumacher, he was hidden in the Gertner home for the entirety of his stay in America. 

The Nifter recited Tehillim every day, having her children and all of Klal Yisroel in mind.

The levaya will take place at 1 p.m. at the Satmar Shul on Rodney Street.
